We're so excited to welcome you to the salon! Our main product offering is our monthly rotating book club. What this means is when you join:
1. You'll be prompted to fill out the membership form that lets us know where you're based, what genres you love, and how you enjoy connecting with fellow readers.
2. On the 1st of each month, we'll introduce you to up to 3 fellow readers in your area, curated based on your preferences.
3. Together, you'll choose a book to read that month and decide how you'd like to meet up.
4. Next month? You're matched with a new group of readers and a fresh book to expand your literary circle.

That would be me, Katie! I grew up in New England and spent the past few years living and working in New York City. Currently, I'm reading A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle, and next up are Ina Garten's memoir Be Ready When Luck Happens and Elin Hilderbrand's The Five-Star Weekend.

I started this book club in the Spring of 2025 because I loved the idea of meeting new people every month who actually enjoy the same kinds of book genres. Whether it's a causal chat over coffee, a post-tennis debrief, or a relaxed meetup at an art gallery, the salon is about building strong friendships over shared interests in a group setting.

Behind the scenes, I'm matching members, curating book recommendations, sourcing member perks and discounts, and organizing our very first retreat (Spring 2026 on Nantucket). This is a growing, independent club and a small business, so feedback is always welcome and appreciated. Monthly membership inclusions:

Monthly membership is $12.99 a month. For new members, we’re excited to offer you a 30-day free trial when you sign up before August 31, 2025.  

We are currently active in New York City, Boston, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane! We hope to be launching in additional cities in the coming months.  

Not at all! We offer a virtual meetup option with our membership for those who prefer to connect online or don’t have local members nearby. You'll still enjoy all the same great discussions and community, just from the comfort of your own space. Just be sure to indicate your preference for virtual when you sign up!

If your group doesn’t get off the ground, we’re happy to welcome you to the official virtual group Society Literary Salon runs every month so you can still join the discussion and meet other members in the community. Just ping us at hello@societyliterarysalon.com to let us know!

You can cancel at any time through your membership dashboard (log in here) or by contacting our customer support team at hello@societyliterarysalon.com. Please ensure you cancel before your current membership period ends to avoid any renewal charges.

Please note that membership non-refundable. Once your membership is active, we do not offer refunds, even if you choose to cancel before the end of your billing cycle.
