How It Works

Meet readers who share your taste in books and meetup style, IRL or virtual.

Based on your onboarding survey, we'll pair you with 3–5 new readers each month taking into consideration your genre and meetup style preferences. Your book club, tailor-made.

This rotating model means you’ll connect with a mix of new and familiar faces every month, building genuine connections and becoming part of a vibrant, growing literary community.

Who runs the book club?

That would be me, Katie! I grew up in New England and spent the past few years living and working in New York City. I started this book club in the Spring of 2025 because I loved the idea of meeting new people every month who actually enjoy the same kinds of book genres. This is a growing, independent club and a small business, so feedback is always welcome and appreciated. In which cities are the IRL book clubs available?

In-person monthly rotating book clubs are currently active in New York City, Boston, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane! We hope to be launching in additional cities in the coming months.

Can I switch to virtual later?

Of course! Message us any time on Instagram (@societyliterarysalon) or email us at hello@societyliterarysalon.com and we will update your preferences.

What if the IRL book clubs aren't available in my city yet?

We offer a virtual meetup option with our membership for those who prefer to connect online or don’t have local members nearby. You'll still enjoy all the same great discussions and community, just from the comfort of your own space. We'll let you know when we're live in your city.
